Tour Plan
Day 1
Dehradun to Barsu
Early morning depart from Dehradun for Barsu. On the way, witness changing mountain terrains, mountains, valleys, and visuals of the holy river Bhagirathi. The first day ends on reaching Barsu village, which is a tiny and quiet village, visited mostly by trekkers. It is also the base camp of our trek. There is a nice Temple of Nag Devta, and villagers here are devotees of Nag Devta. There will be an overnight stay at Barsu. Relax in the beauty of the village in a homestay.
Day 2
Barsu to Barnala Tal
Post breakfast, we shall proceed with our trek early in the morning. There is a well-marked trail leading toward Barnala Tal. We shall bid bye to Barsu. On the way, you shall see forests of oak and rhododendron leading toward small meadows leading to Barnala Tal. It is a natural high-altitude lake with a Nag Dev temple adjacent to it. At Barnala Tal, we shall have an overnight stay.
Day 3
Barnala Tal to Dayara Top and return to Barnala Tal
Distance: 8 KM | Time for Barnala Tal to Dayara is 1 hour. We shall start trekking early in the morning after breakfast. Taking the leads of a forest trail, ascending towards Dayaral Bugyala and Dayara Top. The Dayara Bugyal comes with great scenic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges of Gangotri, Srikanth, Mt. Jaonli, Bandarpoonch, Draupadi ka Danda, and Swargarrohini. We shall spend some time here and immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature surrounded by meadows and snow-clad mountains. After a nice time at Dayara top, we shall return to Barnala Tal for an overnight stay.
Day 4
Barnala Tal to Barsu and Drive to Dehradun
Trek: 4 KM in 3-4 hours (Barnala Tal to Barsu) | Barsu to Dehradun: 182 km in a 7-8 hours drive. It is the end of our beautiful serene trek at Dayara Bugyal. We shall start early in the morning and descend towards Barnala Tal and Dehradun. On reaching Dehradun, you can tour around Dehradun with beautiful memories of Dayara Bugyal.
Basecamp
Barsu village at an altitude of 7,200 feet is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This tiny and picturesque hamlet is connected by road to major destinations of Garhwal and is famous for the base camp of Dayara Bugyal.
Things To Pack
Trekking Shoes
A good comfortable and sturdy pair of trekking shoes is required for trekking. As the terrain changes from forests, rock paths, and green soft meadows, it has to be a good quality one. Have a nice pair that suits even a winter trek.
Backpack
A backpack to carry essentials and other nicknacks is necessary. So a 50-60 litre backpack will be good.
Clothes
Sufficient clothes for 5 -6 days like t-shirts, track pants, thermal inners, light winter warm clothes, fleece jackets. Carry lightweight and easily dryable clothes. As the sun can get strong, so something to cover the neck and face. A hoodie and a padded jacket are a must.
Other Essentials
Water bottle, socks, trekking stick, sunglasses, woollen caps, rain cover for bag and wind sheeter, extra bags for soiled clothes, toiletries, sunscreen, medication for motion sickness, painkillers for sprain, or pain repellent sprays.
